Join me as I venture beyond mediocre Mandarin. I'm Becky (李蓓 in Chinese), and I've been studying Chinese since ~2005 (on a whim, at the time). This changed my life considerably, and I moved to China permanently in 2014 (first Tianjin, now Beijing). Due to the pandemic and being stuck at home, I began to seriously study Chinese around September 2019, and I'm still going! I took the HSK6 in March 2022 (170/300; not great), and again in October (156/300; how did I get worse?!). Currently this channel is mainly intended for oral Chinese practice (500 hour challenge!), but I'm hoping it'll evolve into something else, but definitely something involving the Chinese language, and aimed at ambitious students who, like me, wish to go beyond mediocre Mandarin.
